On May 24th, 2026, the Port Elizabeth Golf Club, the second oldest club in South Africa, proudly hosted the PE Open, and it was truly an unforgettable event.
We witnessed a fantastic turnout of some of the finest players in the Eastern Cape, along with visitors from afar making the trip to the Friendly City. A huge thank you to our incredible staff and groundsmen for setting up the course in world-class fashion, especially after the recent heavy rains. Your attention to every detail did not go unnoticed.
Special thanks to Graeme Whale and his team for getting up early to open the range in the dark. They ensured players had a warm-up session before the shotgun start at 7:30, all under the glow of spotlights. A heartfelt shoutout to the staff from Jack’s Bagels for serving quality hot beverages, making our players feel truly welcomed and warmed up. That’s the sense of community at the Port Elizabeth Golf Club!
The course was set up on the tips, providing a true challenge. In the end, it was Joseph Moolman, the reigning PE Golf Club Champion, who lifted the trophy, beating the field by an impressive seven shots. Congratulations to Joey and all of our winners on the day!
A special mention goes to the EP Golf Union executive and their families for dedicating their time to make this premier event a magnificent success. Thank you to everyone who participated — we can’t wait to see you all back next year!
