Players from all over South Africa gathered in the beautiful Kouga District in the Eastern Cape for this prestigious Order of Merit event. With two days of near-perfect weather, the course was in excellent condition.
On day one, we witnessed an amazing hole-in-one by Russell McLachlan on the 17th hole. This was Russell’s first of many more to come!
Day two continued the trend of great weather and impressive scores. In a thrilling finish, Heinrich Frylinck carded a 67, while Wendell Bossinger came in with a 69, leading to a head-to-head playoff for the championship. Wendell emerged victorious, winning the first additional hole.
We want to extend our heartfelt thanks to the incredible staff and management at St Francis Links for their warm hospitality and to the EPGU officials for dedicating their time to host this event. Additionally, we appreciate the supportive wives who were there every step of the way.
