Sunshine, superb greens and a dramatic playoff finish made the 2026 instalment of the Fellow Deer at Royal Port Alfred Golf Club a day to remember.
Johndré Ludick, our very own Protea star, took the title after a playoff with Tiaan Tibshraeny. Johan Smit continues to find form and finished third. Gareth Larkan recorded a flawless 36 shots on each nine twice, to post an even-par 144 for the day after 36 holes played.
EP Golf thanks the management and staff at Royal Port Alfred for presenting the course in magnificent condition—the greens’ new enhanced character was an absolute joy to play. Our gratitude also goes to the EP officials and their wives for their sacrifice in time and effort to ensure the tournament’s success.
This was the penultimate event of the Eastern Province Mid-Am season.
