On 19 July, we witnessed the playing of the 2026 Humewood Silver Salver Tournament, played over 36 holes at “Africa’s Only True Links,” and what a day it was.
The morning round began calm and promising, but as the day progressed strong winds swept in, turning the 36‑hole event into a true test of skill, strategy and nerve.
In the end it was the man in a phenomenal purple patch who prevailed to lift the trophy once more. Tiaan Tibshraeny produced a superb morning 67 (−5) that laid the foundation for his victory — and it was Tiaan who lifted the Silver Salver trophy amidst a very strong and accomplished field.
